The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our community, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans.

Post 171 Mission Statement

Provide a self-sufficient Post Home intended to serve our legionnaire members, fellow comrades, and the community at large. In providing this service we will use the following principles to guide our actions.

We will balance the needs of our Post with those of the end-user, seeking a win-win situation.

We will be mindful of our members and their contributions, providing them fair opportunity to benefit from this asset and with competent, just, and ethical facility management.

We will be good citizens, respecting our neighbors and supporting our community.

We will be responsible stewards of the property we use, protecting the environment, and the assets we are entrusted with.

Monthly Post Meetings

Post meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month, except for July, beginning at 7:00 PM.

Auxiliary meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month, except for July and August, beginning at 7:00 PM.
